Arsenal end 22-year wait as Man City draw hands Gunners Premier League title
Arsenal have finally been crowned Premier League champions, ending a 22-year wait after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The result confirmed that Arsenal F.C. could no longer be caught at the top of the table, sealing a historic title win after years of near misses.
City needed a victory at the Vitality Stadium to take the title race to the final day, but Bournemouth held firm to secure a result that mathematically ended the contest.
The Gunners had moved five points clear of City with a narrow 1-0 win over already-relegated Burnley on Monday, putting them firmly in control of the title race.
The triumph marks Arsenal’s first league title since the legendary 2003/04 “Invincibles” season and ends a six-year trophy drought for the North London club.
Under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have been the dominant force for much of the campaign, bouncing back strongly after a brief dip in form last month.
They have now won four consecutive league matches without conceding a goal, reinforcing their strong finish to the season.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s title defence unravelled after inconsistent results, including a 3-3 draw with Everton that left their fate out of their hands.
The draw with Bournemouth, who extended their unbeaten league run to 17 matches, also secured European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.
Arsenal’s season has been marked by record-breaking performances, including 28 league wins and a remarkable 19 goals scored from corner kicks — surpassing previous records.
The Gunners will now look to complete a memorable campaign with further silverware as attention turns to upcoming European fixtures and the season finale.
