Okpebholo inspects more road projects in Edo State

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, inspected the 36‐kilometre Utako–Unewa–Eworah–Uromi road scheme, which is set to spur economic development in central Edo.
Accompanied by senior officials, he received heartfelt commendations and prayers from local residents, who welcomed the long‐overdue government focus on their communities.
In addition to the road project, Governor Okpebholo also visited the developing Anko Road and Udomi Primary School. He emphasised that his administration is dedicated to “practical governance”—delivering tangible projects that bring direct benefits to the people.
“The joy on the faces of our citizens is unmistakable. We are heartened by the public’s appreciation and remain committed to further developing both the region and the State. By focusing on practical, visible projects, we ensure that our governance has a real impact. Once completed, this 36‐kilometre road will unlock significant economic opportunities for the area,” he explained.
Local residents echoed this sentiment. Larha Fanel, originally from Benue State, expressed gratitude for the project, noting that previous administrations had neglected their community. Similarly, Madam Alice Ojeifoh remarked that the rejuvenated road would open up prospects for economic growth, a welcome change after years of abandonment.
Contractor Michael Rezk added that the new road would connect eight communities and that work had already commenced on the concrete drainage systems. He projected that the entire project would be completed within two years.
