Mysterious abductions rock Guzape as police launch probe
In the heart of Abuja, a chilling scene unfolded near the Abacha Barracks bypass in Guzape. On the night of February 25, at approximately 11:31 p.m., gunmen staged a brazen attack, leaving residents in a state of panic.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command swiftly launched an investigation into the suspected abduction of several individuals. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two abandoned vehicles—a black Toyota Prado Land Cruiser belonging to Hon. Shagala Samuel and a Honda Civic.
The incident has raised fresh concerns about security in the capital city.
According to the source, it is suspected that the occupants of the vehicles may have been abducted by the armed assailants.
“The responding team immediately combed the surrounding area and nearby bushes, but no contact was made with the victims or the perpetrators,” the source disclosed.
Security operatives at key entry and exit points in the FCT have been placed on high alert, while the abandoned vehicles have been recovered to the police station for further investigation.
The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the command has since intensified efforts to locate the victims and track down the culprits.
The police urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, assuring the public that all necessary measures were being taken to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the arrest of the perpetrators.
