NUJ FCT Chairman Assures Members of Renewed Commitment in 2025

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has reaffirmed the council’s commitment to the welfare of its members and the promotion of ethical journalism in the New Year.

In a New Year message to members, Comrade Ike described 2025 as a year of hope and resilience, calling for unity and collective effort in advancing the council’s objectives. She commended members for their dedication and unwavering support in navigating the challenges of 2024, which she noted was a year marked by both hurdles and significant achievements.

“Your contributions, collaboration, and commitment to the ideals of journalism have been the bedrock of our collective success,” she said, adding that the achievements recorded were made possible through the resilience and steadfastness of members.

The chairman highlighted the importance of collective effort, stressing that the success of the council is a shared responsibility. “The responsibilities of this office cannot be borne by the Grace Ike-led Team Exco alone. Our collective strength, unity, and shared vision are essential to achieving the greatness we aspire to,” she stated.

Ike appealed for members’ continued cooperation and active participation in council activities while emphasising the need to uphold professionalism, press freedom, and ethical journalism. She assured members of the Exco’s unwavering dedication to their welfare and the collective growth of the NUJ FCT Council.

“Together, we can make the NUJ FCT Council a shining example of excellence, setting benchmarks for others to emulate,” Ike said.

Looking forward, the chairman expressed optimism that 2025 would be a year of greater achievements and meaningful impact for the council and its members.

She concluded her message by wishing members and their families joy, good health, and prosperity in the New Year, urging them to work together in advancing the council and the journalism profession.
