VP Shettima to preside over NIPSS land reform conference
Vice President Kashim Shettima is to declare open a three day National Land Reform conference on Wednesday, March 26, 2024 at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.
Organised by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), the conference aimed to address issues in Land reform governance in the country with the Reforming Land Governance for Sustainable Development in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Spokesman of the Institute, Prof. Sola Adeyanju, the Institute said the conference will attract experts in the Land sector.
Adeyanju said “the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru is Nigeria’s apex Think-Tank, research and training institute. It serves as a high-level Centre for training, research, reflection and dialogue.
“As part of its activities, the Institute organises conferences to address pertinent issues in the country to bring policymakers. executors and other stakeholders drawn from different sectors of the country.
“As Nigeria’s foremost think-tank and policy institute interested in the sustainable development of our nation, we are compelled to address this pressing challenge facing land administration in Nigeria.
“Thus, the National Institute in collaboration with Johnbull Amanaevbo Foundation (JAF), a non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing sustainable development through thought leadership, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement is hereby inviting you to a 3-Day National Stakeholders Summit.
“The Conference seeks to address critical issues surrounding land administration and policy while exploring innovative solutions for sustainable development. Furthermore, the outcome of the conference will foster sustainable growth, promote equity, and address the systemic challenges that have emerged over the decades.
“The Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON is slated to be the Special Guest of Honour. The event will attract professionals on land matters, the academia, practitioners like Estate Surveyors, Real Estate players, Land Regulation Authorities and Agencies, Land Users, Government Officials, and many more.
