Farmer Gov Bago Approves N80, 000 Minimum Wage For Hospital Casual Staff
In a remarkable move, the Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved a monthly wage of N80,000 for hospital casual staff throughout the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the special adviser to the Governor on Digital Media and Strategy Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo and made available to journalists.
This directive has been issued in response to concerns expressed by casual employees at the Minna General Hospital regarding their employment status.
During a recent meeting in Minna with concerned casual workers who felt they had been unfairly treated during a conversion exercise conducted by his administration, Bago addressed their grievances.
He stated that casual workers holding degree qualifications who have been with the organisation for 10 to 15 years will be granted automatic appointments.
In contrast, those with diploma certifications will initially be appointed on a probationary basis, with the understanding that they are expected to enhance their qualifications within a three-year period.
