NUJ National President extends warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to members, media professionals, and muslim community across Nigeria

As the holy month of Ramadan comes to a close, I, on behalf of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), extend warm felicitations to all our members, media professionals, and the Muslim community across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid El Fitr.
I congratulate Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the successful completion of this month-long spiritual journey of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving in obedience to the Divine Command. May Almighty Allah reward our sacrifices with increased blessings and a more prosperous future.
As we celebrate this festivity, I reflect on the values that Eid El Fitr embodies: piety, sacrifice, love, self-denial, and good conduct. Through the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), we have learned to imbibe these virtues in our daily relationships with one another.
This year’s Eid El Fitr celebration coincides with a significant milestone in our Union’s history – our 70th anniversary. This achievement is a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and commitment of our founding fathers, leaders, and members. We pay tribute to their selfless service and sacrifices, which have shaped our Union into the strong and vibrant institution it is today.
As we mark this anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to upholding the principles of journalism excellence, promoting media freedom, and fostering a community of professionals who are dedicated to telling the stories that shape our nation.
I wish all our members, colleagues, and friends a joyous Eid El Fitr celebration. May Almighty Allah continue to bless and strengthen our Union.
*Eid Mubarak!*
