Nigerian Teams crash out of 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship
The Nigeria Customs Service and the Chief of Naval Staff Spikers have both been eliminated from the ongoing 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship holding in Abuja.
Customs were sent packing after a straight-set defeat to Kenya Commercial Bank, losing 25–19, 25–17, 25–17 in their Round of 16 encounter on Tuesday.
Likewise, the Chief of Naval Staff Spikers were knocked out following a 3–1 loss to Cameroon’s Litto Volleyball Club. The Nigerian side fell 22–25, 18–25, 25–18, 17–25 in a tough contest.
With their hopes of winning the championship now over, both Nigerian teams will now focus on the classification matches.
In another game, defending champions Zamalek of Egypt maintained their fine form with a convincing 25–8, 25–15, 25–15 victory against Omnisports of Ivory Coast, as they continue their quest to retain the title.
