Ex-Jigawa NUJ Chairman, Malamadori, passes away at 55

A former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Jigawa State, Comrade Fahad Muhammad Malamadori, has passed away. He died on Sunday night, June 6, 2025, at the age of 55, at his residence in Malam Madori town.
The announcement of his death was made by the current NUJ Chairman in the state, Comrade Samaila Ibrahim Dutse. Until his death, Malamadori was a staff member of the Jigawa State Ministry of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, where he served as an Information Officer overseeing Birniwa and Kirikasamma local government areas.
He was also a respected member of the Jigawa Council’s Advisory Committee. The deceased left behind a wife and four children, and he has since been laid to rest in his hometown, Malam Madori, according to Islamic rites.
In a condolence message signed by the Secretary of NUJ Zone A, Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, the union described Malamadori’s death as a great loss to the NUJ family and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
The Jigawa State NUJ Council equally mourned his passing, describing him as not only a journalist but a committed unionist who stood for truth, professionalism, and unity among journalists.
According to a statement by the Council’s Secretary, Comrade Aisha Ahmed, Malamadori’s leadership was defined by integrity, selflessness, and his unwavering commitment to journalists’ welfare, a legacy that will not be forgotten.
