Nigeria’s D’Tigress have reaffirmed their dominance in African women’s basketball, securing their fifth consecutive FIBA Women’s AfroBasket title with a 78-64 win over Mali in Sunday’s final.
The hard-fought victory not only handed Nigeria their seventh overall championship but also made them the first nation on the continent to win the title five times in a row, a historic feat in the tournament’s history.
With this latest triumph, D’Tigress extended their remarkable unbeaten run in the AfroBasket competition to 29 games, a streak that has remained unbroken since 2015.
