APC ward secretary slumps, dies after farm work in Abuja
Abdullahi Balla, the secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gwargwada Ward, Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has passed away after collapsing on his way home from the farm.
His brother, Ibrahim Bala, who confirmed the sad news to Daily Trust, revealed that the incident happened last week.
According to him, Abdullahi appeared in good health when he left for the farm alongside two of their younger brothers. However, tragedy struck as they made their way home after completing the day’s work. “Abdullahi had just finished work and was walking back home with two of our brothers when he suddenly slumped. They held him and quickly called someone, who arrived with a motorcycle and rushed him to the hospital,” Ibrahim recounted.
Sadly, the hospital confirmed Abdullahi dead on arrival. He has since been laid to rest according to Islamic rites. The sudden death of the APC ward secretary has thrown the community into mourning, as sympathisers continue to pay condolence visits to the family.
