BREAKING: Court convicts IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu on all terrorism charges

A Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on all seven terrorism-related charges filed against him by the federal government.

Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment, ruling that the prosecution had proven each allegation beyond reasonable doubt.

According to the court, Kanu failed to present a credible defence and “deliberately refused” to challenge the evidence brought forward by the government.

Thursday’s ruling marks a major development in Nigeria’s continued efforts to prosecute terrorism cases and address separatist-linked violence in the South-East.
