COAS Oluyede approves major redeployment of Senior Army Officers
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has approved the redeployment of senior officers into key command and staff roles across the Nigerian Army.
In a statement on Sunday, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele, said the new postings affect principal staff officers at the army headquarters, general officers commanding (GOCs), corps commanders, commandants of training institutions, and brigade commanders.
Those redeployed include Maj.-Gen. Adekunle Adeyinka as Chief of Logistics (Army); Maj.-Gen. A.A. Adekeye as Chief of Personnel Management; Maj.-Gen. T.B. Ugiagbe as Chief of Standard and Evaluation; Maj.-Gen. A.A. Idris as Chief of Military Intelligence; and Maj.-Gen. M.O. Erebulu as Provost Marshal.
Others are Maj.-Gen. E.A. Anaryu as Corps Commander, Supply and Transport; Maj.-Gen. J.E. Osifo as Director-General, Nigerian Army Finance Corporation; and Maj.-Gen. S.A. Akesode as Head of Mission, African Union Verification Mission in Tigray, Ethiopia.
For divisional commands, Maj.-Gen. A.S.M. Wase is now GOC 1 Division/Commander Sector 1, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, while Maj.-Gen. C.R. Nnebeife takes over as GOC 2 Division/Commander Sector 3, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
Other appointments include Maj.-Gen. M.O. Ihanuwaze as Commandant, Nigerian Army Finance School; Maj.-Gen. K.O. Osemwegie as Head, Army Signal School; Maj.-Gen. A.J. Aliyu as Head, Ordnance School; and Maj.-Gen. A.C. Adetoba as Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.
At brigade level, Brig.-Gen. M. Jimoh is now Commander, 1 Brigade; Brig.-Gen. N.E. Okoloagu, Commander, 2 Brigade; and Brig.-Gen. A.A. Bello, Commander, 6 Division Garrison/Sector 3, Operation DELTA SAFE.
Lt.-Gen. Oluyede urged the newly appointed officers to intensify efforts in ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats. He also reassured personnel that their welfare remains his top priority.
