Dele Momodu urges Tinubu to free Nnamdi Kanu for peace in Southeast

Veteran journalist and politician, Dele Momodu, has joined growing voices urging the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Momodu made the call in a post shared on his social media page, stressing that continued detention of Kanu despite several court orders granting him bail was unjust and could further heighten tension in the South-East region.

He appealed to President Bola Tinubu to demonstrate statesmanship by allowing Kanu’s release as a step towards national reconciliation and peace.

According to Momodu, dialogue remains the best path to addressing grievances, not prolonged incarceration.

The call adds to mounting pressure from political leaders, traditional rulers, and human rights groups demanding Kanu’s freedom to ease unrest in the region.
