IGP Disu visits Maiduguri bombing victims, assesses security after IED explosions
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on Tuesday visited victims of the recent improvised explosive device (IED) explosions currently receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
During his visit to Maiduguri, the police chief also inspected the scene of the Monday Market bombing, assessing the impact of the attack and ongoing response efforts.
Disu proceeded to the Borno State Government House and the State Police Command Headquarters, where he reviewed existing security arrangements and discussed strategies to enhance coordinated responses to emerging threats.
He expressed sympathy to the victims and their families, assuring residents that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to dismantling criminal networks behind the attacks and preventing future occurrences.
The IGP further noted that security in Maiduguri has been strengthened, with increased personnel deployment, improved surveillance, and joint operations aimed at safeguarding lives and property across the metropolis.
