Easter: President Tinubu calls for Hope, Unity
As Christians in Nigeria and across the world celebrate Easter, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt greetings, reflecting on the essence of the season and reaffirming his administration’s commitment to rebuilding a better and more prosperous nation.
In a statement released by the State House, President Tinubu emphasized that Easter, a time commemorating the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, serves as a reminder of the enduring values of sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope. He urged Nigerians to embrace these virtues as the nation works toward lasting peace and development.
“I draw inspiration from this timeless message of hope and renewal,” the President stated. “I remain steadfast in my commitment to delivering the promise of a Renewed Hope—a better, more just, and prosperous Nigeria for all.”
The President also expressed deep sorrow over recent tragic events and loss of lives in parts of the country. He assured citizens that his government remains firmly resolved to end insecurity, with clear directives already issued to the Armed Forces and relevant agencies to tackle the threats head-on.
“With the unwavering courage and commitment of our gallant men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide and making steady progress in reclaiming peace and stability,” he affirmed.
On the economy, Tinubu acknowledged the hardship being endured by many Nigerians, but noted that encouraging signs of recovery are beginning to emerge. He pledged his administration’s continued efforts to stabilize key sectors, attract investors, and build an inclusive economy that benefits all citizens.
President Tinubu also joined the global Christian community in celebrating the recovery of Pope Francis, praying for continued strength and inspiration in his service to humanity.
Concluding his message, the President called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and united.
“Our unity and resilience are our greatest strengths,” he said. “Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face.”
He wished all Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Easter, filled with renewed faith and national optimism.
