Governor Bago sets June 2025 deadline for Local Government road projects Completion
Governor Umaru Bago has given contractors working on local government road projects until June 2025 to complete their work.
During a meeting with the contractors, he warned that those who fail to meet project standards will have their contracts revoked. He urged slow-moving contractors to speed up their work and praised those who have successfully completed their projects.

The governor also announced that he had stopped payments for some contractors due to unsatisfactory progress, while those performing well would be paid immediately. He instructed the finance commissioner to release funds tied up in guarantees to help contractors complete their projects.

Also, he encouraged contractors facing payment or security issues to report directly to him. He also directed the Ministry of Works to engage local communities to monitor ongoing projects.
Contractors shared their challenges during the meeting but assured the governor they would complete their work on time.
