“I’ve always wanted this” – Zicsaloma opens up about his nose surgery journey

Nigerian comedian and skit maker Isaac Aloma, popularly known as Zicsaloma, has finally spoken about his decision to undergo rhinoplasty, giving fans an honest insight into his experience and what led him to take the step.

In a video shared on YouTube, Zicsaloma got candid about the insecurities he has battled for years, revealing how the shape of his nose had been a source of ridicule since childhood.

“I’ve always had a very flat nose, and since I was a child, I’ve wanted to change it. I used to get teased a lot—my siblings would say things like, ‘Your nose is too big, your nose is too ugly.’ Basically, I got my father’s nose in full, while my siblings took after my mum’s more pointed nose,” he shared.

While he admitted that his nose became slightly smaller as he grew older, the comedian said the desire to reshape it never left him.

Zicsaloma also addressed the stigma surrounding plastic surgery, especially in Nigeria, where many people still see cosmetic procedures as unnecessary or extreme.

“Some people act as though rhinoplasty is a death sentence. People do it for various reasons—some for medical purposes, others for aesthetic reasons. In my case, I just wanted a shape I liked better,” he explained.

He also pointed out the double standards in society, questioning why people wear makeup, fix braces, or get hair transplants but still criticise those who choose cosmetic surgery.

“I’ve always thought of getting a nose job to reduce its size. Some might call it an inferiority complex, but let’s be honest – we all have insecurities. Some people always wear caps because they don’t have a hairline. It’s the same thing,” he added.

Wrapping up his video, the comedian encouraged people to focus on their happiness rather than public opinion.

“My advice to anyone considering plastic surgery is simple – do what makes you happy. Everyone wants to look their best,” he said.

He also laughed off the criticism he received from some people who felt a man shouldn’t alter his looks.

“Someone made a video judging me, saying, ‘How can a man do this?’ Meanwhile, he had nose rings and earrings. We all have things we do to enhance our appearance, so why judge others? I love my result so far, and that’s what matters.”
