Low Voter Turnout at Dr. Moses Paul’s Polling Unit as INEC Officials wait in vain amid apathy
Voting kicked off at 8:40 AM in Polling Unit 076 at Sani Abacha Estate, Zone 4, but a dismal turnout has marred the day.
INEC officials waited patiently for residents to cast their votes, yet few showed up, our correspondent reports.
This is Dr. Moses Paul’s unit the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for AMAC Chairmanship in today’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council elections. Despite the low participation, Dr. Paul remained optimistic, insisting the outcome would be positive.
According to him “ the will of the people will prevail”.
Addressing the media, Dr. Paul urged Nigerians to resist those seeking to undermine the nation.
“Elections are not just about voting, it’s the heartbeat of the people. When you create narratives that make it difficult for people to participate, you end up with bad leadership, especially at the local level,” he said.
He criticized the current AMAC local council leadership, adding, “Nigerians are as intelligent as I am on average, but we have leaders who haven’t gone to school.
How long will we continue like this?” Dr. Paul described the process as intimidating so far, despite the apathy.
