Makinde holds PDP stakeholders meeting ahead of 2027 elections
Seyi Makinde is convening a critical stakeholders’ meeting aimed at shaping the Peoples Democratic Party’s strategy for the 2027 general elections in Oyo State.
The gathering, taking place at the Local Government Service Commission Secretariat in Ibadan, brings together party leaders, key appointees, and influential figures within the state chapter of the PDP.
Deliberations are expected to centre on the ongoing governorship aspirant screening exercise, preliminary findings, party primaries, and the broader electoral roadmap.
Sources within the party, speaking on condition of anonymity, noted that the governor’s proactive engagement demonstrates a commitment to preserving party unity while positioning the PDP for what is anticipated to be a highly contested governorship race.
Members of the press have been asked to vacate the venue during the meeting. The governor was en route to the event as of the time of reporting.
Further updates are expected following the outcome of the discussions.
