Metamorphosis of Love

By Sharoneez Emephia
There is a certain fresh excitement that accompanies every new stage a romantic relationship evolves into.
A healthy, mature relationship should be characterised by measurable growth and a clear goal, keeping both partners focused, loyal, committed, and excited. After all, no well-meaning adult would willingly invest their time, emotions, loyalty, and energy into something uncertain.
Once you are convinced that the person you are dating or courting is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with, it is wise to take the relationship to the next level. Otherwise, it may become open-ended, monotonous, and uninspiring—creating room for someone more decisive to step in while you remain indecisive and stuck in a cycle.
If there is a sensible reason to delay progressing the relationship, both partners—especially the man, who is traditionally expected to take the lead—should ensure there is an honest, open discussion to keep both parties aligned.
It is essential to recognise that you cannot force someone who is not yet ready for marriage to become ready simply because you are (whether you are male or female).
However, if you are prepared for marriage, you must also have the wisdom to understand that you are not obligated to wait indefinitely for a partner who is not yet ready to move the relationship forward—especially if the wait is no longer meaningful or fulfilling for you.
The best things in life do not always go to the most calculated individuals. While strategic planning is important, boldness and courage are equally crucial.
From experience, no matter how long you date or court someone, there will always be significant surprises after marriage—once you begin living together permanently. There are certain aspects of a person’s character that can only be truly revealed in shared daily life. So, what exactly is the purpose of endless dating?
That is a billion-dollar question, and if you have the answer, please do share it with me.
Until next time on this platform—keep loving, keep living, keep pursuing your dreams, and keep making bold moves.
