The Nigerian Air Force has graduated 483 new regiment personnel at the Regiment Training Centre in Kaduna. The group includes 34 officers and 449 airmen and airwomen who completed basic regiment and force protection training.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who was represented by Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Dari, urged the graduands to stay vigilant and committed to defending the nation. He said Nigeria is facing new and complex security threats, so the Air Force is improving its capabilities and training to match the challenges.
He told the personnel to protect national assets, support joint security operations, and maintain discipline and professionalism at all times. He also reminded them to uphold the values of loyalty, honesty, courage, and discipline as they begin their duties.
The graduands demonstrated combat readiness through drills, weapon handling, and rappelling exercises. The Commandant of the Centre, Air Commodore CO Olayera, said the new skills will help strengthen operations against insurgency and banditry.
Dignitaries from the Air Force and Nigerian Army attended the event. The Nigerian Air Force restated its commitment to working with other security agencies to restore peace across the country.
