Okpebholo suspends Edo PHC Boss over alleged financial misconduct
The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Caulson Oahimire, over allegations of serious financial and administrative misconduct.
The suspension was announced on Tuesday in a statement issued in Benin by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.
According to the statement, the decision followed accusations of substantial financial irregularities. In response, the state government has constituted a special investigative committee to thoroughly examine the matter.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, the government has directed the most senior officer within the agency to assume leadership in an acting capacity.
The state government further assured the public that appropriate measures will be taken based on the findings of the committee.
