Over 20 dead,hundreds injured as earthquake hits Afghanistan
At least 20 people have died and more than 500 others injured after a strong earthquake struck parts of Afghanistan on Monday, officials have confirmed.
The quake hit several provinces, destroying homes and forcing residents to flee into the streets in panic. Rescue workers and local volunteers are currently searching through the rubble to save those trapped.
Hospitals in affected areas are overwhelmed as victims continue to arrive with injuries. Authorities said emergency aid and medical supplies are being sent to the region.
Afghanistan has suffered several deadly earthquakes in recent years, with many communities still rebuilding from past disasters.
Officials have urged people to stay calm and follow safety instructions as aftershocks may continue.
