Ramadan: Governor Otu urges Muslims to pray for peace and security of the Country
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful as they commence the holy month of Ramadan, calling on them to use this sacred period to pray for a peaceful and united Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, Governor Otu described Ramadan as a time of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and generosity, urging Muslims to embrace these values wholeheartedly.
Emphasising the essence of Ramadan, the governor underscored the significance of prayer, fasting, and charity. He encouraged Muslims to use the holy month to seek Allah’s guidance for the nation’s unity and stability, ensuring that peace and justice prevail.
Governor Otu also called on the Muslim community to remember the less privileged, the vulnerable, and those on the margins of society. He stressed that Ramadan is not solely about personal devotion but also about uplifting others. Extending a helping hand to those in need, he noted, would reflect the true essence of the holy season.
As Muslims embark on this spiritual journey, the governor wished them a peaceful, blessed, and fulfilling Ramadan. He also reassured them of his commitment to fostering an inclusive and harmonious society, ensuring that the “season of sweetness” is experienced by all, regardless of religious or ethnic background.
