Super Eagles ready for battle as Chelle names 39-Man Squad for Rwanda and Zimbabwe
Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle, has unveiled a 39-man provisional squad for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The squad features prominent players such as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, William Troost-Ekong, and Ahmed Musa. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and forward Moses Simon are also included.
Other notable selections include Maduka Okoye, Bruno Onyemaechi, Zaidu Sanusi, Frank Onyeka, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. First-time call-ups have been extended to defenders Igoh Ogbu and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, midfielders Anthony Dennis and Papa Daniel Mustapha, and forwards Tolu Arokodare and Jerome Akor Adams.
Nigeria currently ranks fifth in Group C of the qualifiers, trailing Rwanda, South Africa, Benin Republic, and Lesotho. The Super Eagles will play group leaders Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, 2025, before hosting Zimbabwe in Uyo on March 25.
