Tems to headline inaugural FIFA Club World Cup Final halftime show
Nigerian music sensation, Tems, has been announced as the headline act for the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show, slated for July 13 at the MetLife Stadium in New York.
According to a statement from Global Citizen, producers of the high-profile show, the performance will also feature Colombian superstar J Balvin and American pop icon Doja Cat, delivering an international musical lineup for the historic event. The performance will be streamed live and free on DAZN.com, giving fans across the world a chance to witness the spectacle.
Sharing her excitement, Tems said the event means more than entertainment, describing it as a platform to unite people through music and football. “We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” she said.
The performance forms part of a broader initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a joint project between FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen co-founder Hugh Evans. The fund targets $100 million to improve access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide.
Tems described the show as a moment to not only entertain but also advocate for positive global change, celebrating both the beautiful game and the power of music to unite communities.
