Tinubu departs Maiduguri for Bauchi after inaugurating key projects
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday departed Maiduguri, Borno State, for Bauchi after inaugurating major projects and attending the wedding of a former Borno governor’s son.
In Maiduguri, Tinubu commissioned the terminal extension of the upgraded international wing of General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport. He also inaugurated schools, electric buses, taxis, and tricycles procured by the Borno Government to improve transportation and enhance access to education.
The president capped the visit by attending the Nikkah and marriage ceremony of Sadeeq Ali Modu Sheriff and Hadiza Kam Salem, children of former Borno Governor Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff.
Following the events, the presidential aircraft, Nigerian Air Force 5N-FGA, departed Maiduguri at approximately 3:25 p.m. for Bauchi State.
There, Tinubu is expected to condole with the state government and the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the prominent Islamic cleric who passed away on November 27.
After Bauchi, the president will proceed to Lagos to spend the end-of-year holidays.
