Tinubu’s road projects symbolise drive for equitable development – FG

The Federal Government has reaffirmed that President Bola Tinubu’s legacy road infrastructure projects demonstrate his administration’s commitment to fair and inclusive national development.
Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, made the remark on Wednesday in Kaduna at a two-day interactive session on Government-Citizens Engagement, hosted by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.
Goronyo highlighted several flagship projects, including the 1,068-kilometre Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway and the 750-kilometre Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, as clear indicators of President Tinubu’s vision for integrated infrastructure across the country.
Other major projects cited include the 477-kilometre Trans-Saharan Highway, which spans Calabar, Ebonyi, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory, and the 422-kilometre Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe Motorway.
According to the minister, these roads were strategically designed to link various states, promote national integration, and open up new economic corridors for regional growth and development.
He also disclosed that four reputable construction firms had been contracted to handle the Sokoto–Zaria section of the superhighway, which will be constructed using reinforced concrete to guarantee durability and extended lifespan.
