UTME 2025: JAMB shuts down Five CBT Centres, arrests 27 impersonators

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted five Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for failing to meet the required technical and operational standards in the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The affected centres include Adventure Associate, Behind Sheshe Supermarket, Off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State; Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano; Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 1 and Centre 2, located at 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal; and Soronara Ventured Nigeria Limited, Foundation Road, Umudagu Mbieri, Mbaitoli, Imo State.
While announcing this, JAMB commended the 883 CBT centres that have maintained high operational standards during the examination exercise. The Board warned that any centre, regardless of its owner or location, found guilty of technical shortcomings or unethical practices would be immediately blacklisted.
Candidates earlier assigned to the affected centres have been advised to promptly reprint their examination notification slips to confirm their new venues and rescheduled dates.
Additionally, the Board revealed that over 900,000 candidates have so far successfully written their UTME out of the total 2,083,600 candidates registered for this year’s exam.
In a major clampdown on examination malpractice, JAMB confirmed the arrest of 27 impersonators on Friday, April 25, 2025. The suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution.
JAMB further issued a stern warning to all CBT centres, stressing that any form of unauthorised, unilateral restrictions on candidates would not be tolerated and would attract severe sanctions.
