Northern Nigeria Minorities Group hails Nigeria at 65, commends Tinubu’s leadership
The Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG) has congratulated the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its citizens on the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, describing the milestone as another moment to reflect on the nation’s journey of unity and resilience.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the group noted that despite repeated tests over the past six and a half decades, Nigeria has remained indivisible, held together by the patience, resilience, and shared hope of its people.
NNMG paid tribute to the nation’s founding fathers and leaders who have steered its affairs at different points in history, acknowledging their sacrifices alongside those of ordinary citizens, which it described as the cornerstone of Nigeria’s endurance.
The group also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lauding his boldness in addressing difficult national challenges and prioritizing the progress, survival, and stability of the country above political considerations.
“As we celebrate 65 years of independence, we must not forget that what has held us together is far greater than the forces that seek to divide us. Our diversity, resilience, and shared hope remain the major ingredients of the Nigerian spirit and a propeller towards a brighter future,” the statement read.
The NNMG urged Nigerians to renew their faith in the Nigerian project, remain united, and work collectively to build a country that fulfills the dreams and aspirations of its founding fathers.
“Happy 65th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria,” the group declared.
