BREAKING: ASUU suspends Two-Week warning strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its two-week warning strike declared last week across all public universities in Nigeria.
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a press conference at the union’s headquarters in Abuja.
ASUU President, Chris Piwuna, who read a prepared statement to journalists, said the decision followed the intervention of the Senate and other well-meaning Nigerians.
He added that the union remains committed to addressing lingering issues affecting the university system through dialogue and constructive engagement.
However, he said the National Executive Council of the Union resolved to give the government a one-month window to address all contending areas.
