BREAKING: Osimhen, Adams sink Algeria as Super Eagles storm AFCON Semi-Final
Nigeria’s Super Eagles delivered a commanding performance on Saturday night, brushing aside Algeria 2-0 to secure a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The Eagles were patient and disciplined in the opening half, keeping Algeria at bay before turning on the style after the break at the Grand Stade de Marrakech. Just minutes into the second half, Victor Osimhen broke the deadlock, calmly finishing off a well-worked attacking move to put Nigeria in front.
The Napoli striker was again at the heart of Nigeria’s dominance shortly before the hour mark, turning provider as he teed up Akor Adams, who made no mistake in doubling the lead and effectively sealing the contest.
Algeria struggled to respond as Nigeria controlled proceedings, combining defensive solidity with sharp attacking transitions to see out a comfortable victory.
With the win, the Super Eagles advance to the last four, where they will face tournament hosts Morocco in what promises to be a high-stakes semi-final clash for a place in the final.
