The Labour Party has officially unveiled the chairmen and members of its electoral subcommittees tasked with supervising its forthcoming congresses across the country.
The development was disclosed in a statement signed by the Senior Special Adviser (Media) to the National Chairman, Ken Asogwa, in Abuja on Tuesday.
The party had earlier released the timetable for its congresses, with ward congresses scheduled for Thursday, April 23, local government congresses on Friday, April 24, and state congresses on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
According to Asogwa, the subcommittees are made up of experienced and respected party members who will oversee the smooth conduct of the ward, local government and state congresses.
He said the appointed chairmen include Hon. Iheanacho Obioma for Abia State, Francis Kim for Adamawa, Ekong Philip Solomon for Akwa Ibom, Chief Tony Asuoha for Anambra, and Malam Mustapha Adamu for Bauchi, among others.
In a message to the committee members, Labour Party National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, urged them to discharge their duties with fairness, transparency and integrity.
She said their conduct should reflect the party’s core values of equal opportunity and social justice.
Usman also stressed the need for diligence and commitment, noting that the credibility of the party must be protected throughout the congress process.
The Labour Party further assured members and supporters nationwide that all arrangements had been concluded to ensure a peaceful, successful and hitch-free exercise.
The party’s National Convention is scheduled to hold on April 28, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State.
