Adel Amrouche appointed Rwanda National Football Team Head Coach

Adel Amrouche, originally from Algeria, has been named the new head coach of Rwanda’s senior men’s national football team.
The Rwanda Football Association announced his appointment via their official X account on Sunday.
At 56 years old, Amrouche takes over from German coach Torsten Spittler. His first major task will be guiding the team in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles, set to take place on 21st March in Kigali.
Rwanda currently tops Group C with seven points, maintaining a four-point lead over Nigeria.
Amrouche’s coaching career began in 1988 with the youth team of OMR El Annasser. In March 2023, he took charge of Tanzania’s national team and successfully led them to qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
