Anambra guber: Soludo cleared for APGA Primaries, set for re-election bid
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has quietly obtained his expression of interest and nomination forms from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Secretariat in Abuja, officially kick-starting his bid for a second term.
According to a statement released on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, Soludo’s screening process was seamless and without controversy, a reflection of the party’s commitment to peaceful and stable internal politics.
“For the first time in the history of the party, the APGA primary election promises to be a historic event,” Opara stated.
He disclosed that over 3,260 delegates are expected to participate in the governorship primary scheduled for Saturday, April 5, ahead of the November 8, 2025, general election in Anambra State.
“The party’s National Working Committee, led by Ezeokenwa Sly, has certified Governor Soludo fit for the primary election,” the statement read.
Opara further emphasized that the governor, who has received widespread endorsements for a second term, is the first aspirant in the state’s history to seek re-election on the strength of his performance in office.
“As the party prepares for the primary election, APGA members and supporters remain optimistic about the future,” he added. “With its focus on progressive leadership and governance, APGA is poised to continue driving positive development in Anambra State.”
