Ronaldo beams with pride as Son makes Portugal U-15 debut
Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his delight after his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, made his debut appearance for Portugal’s Under-15 national team.
The 14-year-old came on as a substitute in the 54th minute during Portugal’s 4–1 victory over Japan at a youth tournament held in Croatia on Tuesday.
Ronaldo Jr was cheered on from the stands by his grandmother, Dolores Aveiro, the mother of the football icon.
Reports indicate that scouts from Manchester United, one of Ronaldo Sr’s former clubs, as well as representatives from several leading European teams, were present to observe the young forward’s performance.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who remains the highest goal scorer in men’s international football with 136 goals for Portugal, famously captained the national team to their first major trophy at Euro 2016, later adding the UEFA Nations League title in 2019.
