Osimhen rejects Al Hilal’s €120m offer, reiterates commitment to European Football
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has once again turned down a record-breaking offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, reaffirming his intention to remain in European football, NUJ FCT reports.
Al Hilal, who recently appointed former Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi, had placed Osimhen at the top of their transfer targets ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The Saudi Pro League side reportedly tabled an extraordinary €120 million contract over three years — approximately €40 million per annum. However, the 26-year-old Nigerian international declined the offer.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, “The offer was quite impressive but ultimately did not convince the player.” Osimhen is understood to be taking his time to carefully consider offers from Europe’s elite clubs.
This latest snub marks the third time Osimhen has rejected Al Hilal’s advances, following previous offers of €30m, €35m, and most recently €45m per year. Italian publication Calciomercato reported that Al Hilal had already agreed a €75 million transfer fee with Napoli, but the player remained firm on his stance to stay in Europe.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) by Onyebuchi Onokala, a close associate of Osimhen, also confirmed the development: “Victor Osimhen officially turns down Saudi club Al Hilal’s first offer. It was the same offer they made last year.”
Meanwhile, Turkish champions Galatasaray — where Osimhen previously enjoyed a prolific loan spell, netting 37 goals in 41 appearances — are said to be leading the race for his signature. The club has reportedly submitted a fresh salary proposal worth €26 million per annum, with his release clause not expected to pose any significant obstacle.
Renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano added on Sunday: “Despite an agreement between the clubs for a €75 million fee, Osimhen has said no to the Saudi Pro League side. Galatasaray will continue to push for his signing as the race is now wide open.”
With mounting interest from a top Italian club also prepared to meet his wage demands, Osimhen’s future appears to be firmly rooted in Europe as the 2025 summer transfer window gathers momentum.
