WAFCON Opener: Rufai honoured as Morocco, Zambia settle for 2–2 draw

A minute of silence was held in honour of late former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, before the opening match of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco on Saturday night.
Rufai, a respected figure in Nigerian football history, died earlier this week at the age of 61 in a Lagos hospital. Players from both Morocco and Zambia gathered at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat to pay their respects ahead of kick-off.
After the emotional tribute, fans witnessed an exciting encounter as hosts Morocco and Zambia battled to a thrilling 2–2 draw.
