Tinubu appoints Abdullahi Ramat as Acting NERC Boss, two others as commissioners

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Abdullahi Garba Ramat as the new chairman and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
The appointment was confirmed on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Ramat, who previously served as chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area in Kano State between 2021 and 2024, will assume the NERC leadership role in an acting capacity, pending Senate confirmation.
In addition to Ramat’s appointment, President Tinubu also named Abubakar Yusuf as commissioner for consumer affairs and Fouad Olayinka Animashun as commissioner for finance and management services within the electricity regulatory body.
