Tinubu mourns Ghanaian Ministers killed in Helicopter crash
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the President of Ghana, John Mahama, and the people of Ghana following a tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of two senior cabinet members and six others.
Among the victims were Ghana’s Defence Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, and the Environment Minister, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, who were reportedly on official duty when the crash occurred.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said the Nigerian government and people stand in full solidarity with Ghana during this difficult time of national mourning.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends his deepest condolences to President John Mahama, the government and people of Ghana following the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and six others,” the statement said.
President Tinubu described the incident as a devastating loss and urged the bereaved families and the Ghanaian nation to find comfort in knowing that the deceased died while serving their country patriotically.
He assured President Mahama and all Ghanaians that Nigeria’s thoughts and prayers are with them at this moment of grief and offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and strength for their loved ones left behind.
