The abducted Principal of Community High School, Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, Rachael Folawe Alamu has appeared in a viral video from captivity, dismissing reports that her abductors demanded N1 billion ransom, weapons, or the imposition of Sharia law in Nigeria.

In the footage circulated on Monday, Alamu said she decided to speak out 24 days after her abduction following what she described as widespread misinformation about the kidnappers’ demands.

She stated that she and other captives were shown media reports alleging that the abductors had made monetary and political demands, which she insisted were false.

According to her, the kidnappers have not requested any ransom or religious condition, stressing that the only demand communicated to them was the release of certain individuals allegedly in custody.

She appealed to the public and authorities not to politicise the situation, urging that attention should be focused on securing the release of all victims.

Alamu also called on Nigerians to help circulate her message to correct what she described as misleading reports surrounding the case.

Security authorities have yet to issue an official response to the claims made in the video.
