APC holds massive Ebonyi rally, declares full support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, on Monday led members of the party’s National Working Committee to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, for a major rally endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The rally, held at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, attracted a high-profile gathering of political leaders across party lines, including Governors Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Chukwuma Soludo (Anambra), Minister of Works David Umahi, Deputy Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ossai, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim, among others.
Speaking at the event, Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Santely Okoro-Emegha, declared that the state remains firmly under the control of the APC, insisting that the gathering was a demonstration of overwhelming grassroots support for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election ambition.
He further pledged that Ebonyi State would deliver a “100 per cent vote” for the President across all local government areas.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, said the South-East region was increasingly aligning with the Tinubu administration, attributing the support to what he described as visible federal infrastructure projects and inclusive governance.
Umahi also pointed to ongoing developments in Ebonyi State, including a major federal road project reportedly valued at ₦445 billion, as evidence of renewed federal attention to the region.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who attended the rally, said his presence was in solidarity with the Ebonyi State Governor, noting that although he belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he supports initiatives that promote governance and development nationwide.
Soludo also reflected on his personal ties to Ebonyi State, recalling his early years in Nkalagu where his father worked at the Nigercem Cement Company.
The event, which drew prominent political figures from various parties, was widely described as a significant show of political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
