Auchi Abduction: Kidnappers threaten to kill Woman if ₦20m ransom is not paid (Video)

Fear and panic have engulfed the Igbira Camp community in Auchi, Edo State, as kidnappers holding 28-year-old Aisha Wahab hostage have issued a chilling deadline, her family must raise ₦20 million before 5 p.m. today or she will be killed.
A disturbing video that surfaced online Tuesday morning showed a terrified Aisha pleading for her life while an armed man pointed a rifle at her. In the clip, her voice shook as she begged the government and the public to intervene, saying her family could not meet the kidnappers’ demands.
“Please help me… they said they’ll kill me by 5 p.m. today if the ₦20 million isn’t paid,” she cried in the video.
According to reports, Aisha was abducted on October 11 while returning home from work in Igbira Camp, a settlement on the outskirts of Auchi. Since then, her captors have maintained contact with her family, demanding the ransom for her release.
Family members say they have struggled to raise only a small portion of the money. A relative, who spoke under anonymity, described the family’s ordeal as “heartbreaking and desperate.”
“We are pleading with the authorities, please help us. Aisha is innocent. She’s just struggling to make ends meet,” the relative said.
Residents say attempts to get assistance from local security operatives have yielded little result. The Edo State Police Command has yet to release an official statement, but abductions for ransom have become frequent in the area, often targeting traders, travelers, and women returning from markets.
Civil society organizations have condemned the abduction, calling on the government to take urgent steps to tackle the growing wave of insecurity that has left citizens living in fear.
As the 5 p.m. deadline approaches, the fate of Aisha Wahab hangs in the balance—a grim reflection of Nigeria’s worsening security situation and the human cost of unchecked criminality.
