Receiving the materials, Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, lauded the CEO of Bespoke Urban Luxury Limited Dr Christain Olatunji for identifying with the media community and investing in infrastructure that will strengthen journalism practice and professional engagement.
She described the donation as both timely and strategic, noting that the proposed congress building would serve as a hub for professional development, welfare coordination, training, and constructive engagement between journalists and key stakeholders.
“This gesture by Bespoke Urban Luxury Limited is a clear demonstration of confidence in the Nigerian media and the vital work we do. The NUJ FCT Council is committed to building a functional Congress Hall that will serve as a centre for training, innovation, and the overall welfare of our members,” she said.
Comrade Ike assured the donor of transparency and accountability in the utilisation of the materials, reiterating the Council’s determination to deliver a project that would stand the test of time.
“We are resolute in completing this project for the benefit of journalists in Abuja and generations to come. Partnerships like this move us closer to realizing that vision,” she added.
Representatives of Bespoke Urban Luxury Limited said the CEO’s intervention Dr Christain Olatunji was inspired by the critical role the media plays in national development and democratic consolidation.
According to the company, supporting the building project aligns with its corporate social responsibility commitment to community growth and institutional capacity building.
Members of the NUJ FCT Council present at the ceremony described the donation as exemplary and called on other corporate organisations, public-spirited individuals, and development partners to emulate the gesture.
When completed, the NUJ FCT Ultramodern Congress Hall is expected to provide offices, training halls, and modern facilities that will significantly enhance journalism practice in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Council reiterated its appeal for sustained partnerships and goodwill support from government agencies and the private sector to ensure the speedy completion of the landmark project.
