Popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, has reportedly died after battling kidney cancer.

A source within the Nollywood industry, who spoke anonymously, informed DAILY POST that the actor was rushed to the hospital on Monday after his condition worsened.

According to the source, Ekubo had been battling kidney cancer for some time before he was placed on life support.

The actor reportedly passed away on Tuesday afternoon after spending several hours on life support.

Alex Ekubo had earlier sparked concerns about his health following his prolonged absence from social media and public activities.

Rumours about his health challenges first surfaced in May 2025 after months of inactivity online.

A check by Journalist also showed that the actor’s last post on social media was made on December 30, 2024.

His reported death has thrown the Nollywood industry into mourning, with fans and colleagues expressing shock over the development.
