C&S Church says 151 members still in captivity, urges FG to act
The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Unification Church has disclosed that 151 of its members abducted in Kaduna State are still being held captive, urging the Federal Government to intensify efforts towards securing their release.
The Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church, Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale-Alogbo, made this known on Monday while addressing journalists at Maba, near Lagos.
Adewale-Alogbo said the abducted members were seized at Wali community in Kaduna State on January 18, adding that the incident has continued to cause deep concern within the church.
He spoke at a news conference organised to announce activities lined up for the church’s 2026 annual conference, themed “An Unhidden City,” which is scheduled to commence on Thursday in Lagos.
According to him, the annual gathering will serve as a period of reflection, renewal and recommitment to the church’s spiritual and moral mandate.
He explained that the theme reflects the urgent need to promote unity, moral restoration and national cohesion at a time when Nigeria is grappling with deep social and security challenges.
“The conference is designed to offer spiritual direction as well as practical guidance for both the Church and the nation,” Adewale-Alogbo said.
He noted that the programme would feature sessions on spiritual growth, leadership development, youth engagement, nation-building and social responsibility.
“The teachings will focus on faith, righteousness, servant leadership, accountability and integrity,” he added.

The cleric expressed concern over the continued loss of innocent lives and the displacement of families as a result of insurgency and other security threats across the country.
While commending the Federal Government for its ongoing efforts to address insecurity, Adewale-Alogbo urged authorities to scale up actions aimed at ending kidnappings and restoring peace nationwide.
