Dangote Refinery begins nationwide sale of Petrol at ₦739 Per Litre via MRS stations

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals (DPRP) has announced the commencement of nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, at a pump price of ₦739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations.

The refinery made the disclosure in a statement issued on Sunday, describing the move as part of its broader mission to make fuel more affordable for Nigerians and stabilise the downstream petroleum sector.

With over 2,000 MRS outlets spread across the country, DPRP said the new pricing regime is expected to be implemented nationwide to ensure that Nigerians fully benefit from locally refined fuel.

The refinery commended MRS Oil and other marketers that have already adjusted their pump prices to reflect the reduction, urging others in the downstream sector to adopt the pricing framework in the interest of economic recovery.

DPRP also called on relevant government agencies to closely monitor the market and clamp down on operators who may attempt to create artificial scarcity or exploit consumers in response to the price adjustment.

It further advised Nigerians to resist purchasing fuel at inflated prices and instead patronise stations offering cheaper, high-quality, locally refined petrol.

“We commend MRS and other marketers who have demonstrated patriotism by reflecting the reduced price at the pump. We call on others to join this effort as a show of support for Nigeria’s economic recovery,” the statement said.

“Any attempt to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply to frustrate recent price reductions is unpatriotic and unacceptable. Regulatory authorities must remain vigilant and take firm action against such practices, especially during this critical festive period.”

The refinery urged consumers to report any MRS station selling petrol above the approved ₦739 per litre price via 0800 123 5264.

DPRP also encouraged other filling station operators to patronise its products so that the benefits of the price reduction can be extended to Nigerians nationwide.

“Our objective remains clear: to ensure consistent supply of high-quality petroleum products at affordable prices for Nigerians, while supporting economic stability and reducing dependence on imports,” the statement added.
