Nigeria’s Falconets, two-time FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup silver medallists, have commenced training in Ibadan ahead of Saturday’s decisive second-leg encounter against Rwanda’s She-Amavubi in the second round of the 2026 qualifiers.

The team, which arrived in Ibadan on Monday, was warmly received by the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke. She assured the players of the state government’s full support and offered prayers for their success in the crucial fixture.

Speaking on behalf of the squad, captain Joy Igbokwe expressed appreciation to the Oyo State government, pledging that the team is determined to put up a strong performance and make the nation proud.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Gambian referee Ngum Fatou to take charge of Saturday’s clash. She will be assisted by Jainaba Manneh and Abbie Ceesay, with Isatou Touray as the fourth official.
