Gov Radda confirms Buhari’s burial for Tuesday in Daura
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has officially announced that the late former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, will be laid to rest on Tuesday in his hometown, Daura, situated in Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Governor Radda made this known on Monday during a press briefing held at the Katsina Government House. He disclosed that the decision followed consultations with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, where the late president passed away.
According to the governor, Buhari’s remains are expected to arrive in Katsina by 12 noon on Tuesday, with the burial scheduled for 2 p.m. in Daura.
“On behalf of myself, the people and government of Katsina State, we condole the family, the people of Nigeria, and particularly His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the death of his predecessor. May Almighty Allah give us the strength to bear this painful loss,” Radda stated.
NUJFCT had earlier reported that Buhari died on Sunday in a London hospital at the age of 82.
Following the announcement of his death, President Bola Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima and his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to accompany Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria for the final rites.
